H. S. Madaan, J. (Oral) It is stated that petitioner No.2. Rupali Vaidya, aged about 17 years has got married with petitioner No.1 Ajay Kumar, aged about 26, against the wishes of her family members, arrayed as respondents No. 4 and 5, who are threatening to interfere in their marital life, as such to seek protection in that regard, they have approached this court by way of filing the present petition. Of course Rupali Vaidya - respondent No.2 being aged less than 18 years, marriage between Rupali Vaidya and Ajay Kumar is in violation of Section 5 of the Hindu Marriage Act. The petition stands dismissed.

CRWP No. 2433 of 2020 -2However, if the petitioners submit any representation to respondent No.2- Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala, he may evaluate the threat perception to the petitioners and if he finds that such threat is actually there, then he may ensure that no physical harm is caused to the petitioners at the hands of private respondents or persons claiming under them. Needless to say the petitioners would remain liable for any criminal or civil action as per law. ( H.S.
