On 20.04.2026 the following order was passed : 'Challenge in the present writ petition is to the order of ejectment passed under the Punjab Village Common Lands (Regulation) Haryana Amendment Act, 1991 (Haryana Act No.2 of 1992).

During the pendency of the writ petition, an amended written statement was filed by the Sarpanch of the Gram Panchayat (respondent No.4 herein) wherein it has been stated that the Gram Panchayat took possession of the land in dispute on 17.01.1999 pursuant to the order of ejectment and later the said land was leased on Patta on AMAN JAIN 2026.05.14 09:11 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this order/judgment

CWP-6848-1999 (O&M) -223.02.1999 i.e. much prior to the filing of the present writ petition.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners seeks some time to get his instructions qua the same. On his request, adjourned to 13.05.2026.

Learned senior counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioners states that there is no response from the petitioners. 3.

In view of the above and in view of the stand taken by respondent No.4-Gram Panchayat in the written statement, as noticed in the order dated 20.04.2026, the present writ petition is dismissed as having been rendered infructuous with liberty to revive in case anything survives in the matter.
