(Oral) The petitioners have approached this Court seeking protection of their life and liberty on the premise that petitioner No.1 has performed marriage with petitioner No.2 against the wishes of her parents and other family members and the petitioners are apprehending threat to their life and liberty at their instance. Notice of motion.

Mr. Himmat Singh, DAG, Haryana accepts notice on behalf of the respondent - State.

The matter was referred to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre of this Court today itself as the father of petitioner No.1 i.e. respondent No.4 wanted to meet her daughter.

The report from the Mediation and Conciliation Centre has been received stating therein that respondents No.4 to 7 will have no objection as the petitioners have got married. CRM-M No.18916 of 2018 submitted that a representation dated 02.05.2018 was made to the Superintendent of Police, Kapurthala (Annexure P5) seeking necessary protection but no action has been taken so far in the matter. Heard.

Without examining the question of validity or otherwise of marriage of the petitioners, the present petition stands disposed of with a direction to the Senior Superintendent of Police, Kapurthala to look into grievance of the petitioners expressed in the representation (Annexure P5) and take appropriate action, if any, warranted in the circumstances.
