(ORAL) In compliance of the order dated 27.8.2015 passed by this Court, affidavit dated 8.9.2015 of the Senior Superintendent of Police, Jalandhar (Rural), filed in the Court today, is taken on record and copy thereof has been supplied to the learned counsel for the petitioners.

Learned counsel for the State, on instructions from ASI Amarjit Singh, submits that an independent and effective investigation has already been concluded and report under Section 173 Cr.P.C. is likely to be presented before the learned court of competent jurisdiction within a short span of time. He further submits that in this view of the matter, present petition has been rendered infructuous and may be disposed of, as such.

No. M-18038 of 2015 Faced with the above, learned counsel for the petitioners also fairly states that let the present petition be disposed of in view of the statement made by learned counsel for the State but liberty may be granted to the petitioners to avail their other remedies before the learned trial court/Illaqa Magistrate, in accordance with law. In view of the above, instant petition is disposed of as having been rendered infructuous, however, with the aforesaid liberty.
