(ORAL) Prayer in the instant petition filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. is for issuance of a direction to respondents No. 2 and 3 to protect the life, liberty and property of the petitioners at the hands of respondents No. 4 to 8.

Learned counsel for the petitioner inter alia contends that FIR No. 155 dated 26.08.2013 (Annexure P-1) under Sections 302 read with Section 34 IPC, Police Station City, Jagraon, District Ludhiana was registered against respondents No. 4 to 8 with regard to murder of Gursewak Singh son of petitioner No. 1-Lajwant Singh. It further contended that challan in the FIR has been presented and the trial is pending. It is also contended that petitioner No. 2-Dalbara Singh is the grand-father and petitioner No. 3-Manjit Kaur is the mother of deceased. It is also contended that petitioner No. 4-Karnail Singh is an eye-witness RISHU KATARIA 2015.05.29 16:47 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document

CRM-M-18040-2015 (O&M) -2to the occurrence and has supported the prosecution case while appearing in the witness-box. It is further contended that petitioners are getting threats from the accused persons.

Notice of motion to respondents No. 1 to 3 only, at this stage.

On the asking of Court, Mr. Gazi Mohd., DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondents No. 1 to 3. Let requisite number of copies of paper-book be supplied to learned State counsel during the course of day. In view of the nature of order that is proposed to be passed, no reply is required to be filed by the respondents. The petitioners have already filed a representations dated Annexure P-4 and P-5 in this regard before respondent No. 2-Senior Superintendent of Police (Rural), District Ludhiana who is also holding the charge of Senior Superintendent of Police, Police District Jagraon. The instant petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No. 2-Senior Superintendent of Police (Rural), Ludhiana to look into the representations Annexures P-4 and P-5 regarding threat perception and safety of the petitioners and if needed take appropriate steps in accordance with law.
