Present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of certiorari quashing clause 4.1 (i) & (ii) of the advertisement No.1 dated 05.03.2021 (P-1) vide which respondents are insisting upon only 03 years diploma of Civil Engineering and possession of higher qualification of degree was ignored. Further prayer is to direct the respondents to consider the candidature of petitioners for selection and appointment against 585 posts of Junior Engineer (Civil) in view of higher qualification of Degree in Civil Engineering possessed by them.

In pursuance of the notice of motion, issued by this Court, short reply by way of affidavit of Amrik Singh, Under Secretary, Department of Water Resources, Punjab, dated 30.03.2022 along with annexures R-1 & R-2 filed on behalf of respondent No. 1 is taken on record. Registry to tag the same at appropriate place. Learned counsel for the parties are ad-idem that in view of the order of even date passed in CWP No.7850 of 2021 titled as 'Nikhil Goyal Vs. State of Punjab and another', nothing survives in the present writ petition and as such the same be disposed off. Ordered accordingly.
