JASGURPREET SINGH PURI , J. (Oral) The present petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. for issuance of direction to respondent No.2 to direct respondent Nos.3 and 4 not to harass the petitioners without any cogent cause or reasons.

Learned counsel for the petitioners has submitted that petitioner No.1 is wife of petitioner No.2. Brother of petitioner No.1 Daljinder Singh is involved in number of cases and therefore, petitioner No.1 had expelled him from her house and had severed her relationship with him long time ago because he was involved in criminal activities. Petitioner

No.2 is husband of petitioner no.1 whereas petitioner Nos.3 and 4 are the old aged parents of petitioner No.2. He submitted that because of involvement of brother of petitioner No.1 in criminal activities, the police had been constantly raiding the house of the petitioner and even torturing them. He submitted that the petitioners are not aware about the whereabouts of aforesaid Daljinder Singh and therefore, police cannot exceed its powers in forcing the petitioners to disclose anything once they have already severed their relationship with aforesaid Daljinder Singh. Notice of motion.

Mr.Randhir Singh Thind, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. He submits that he has received advance copy of the present petition and has gone through the same and even the investigating officer ASI Janak Raj is also present in the Court and he has already sought instructions from him. He, on instructions, submitted that the police had raided the house of the petitioners once in search of aforesaid Daljinder Singh but he was not found but the police has neither humiliated nor tortured anybody including all the four petitioners. He specifically submitted that all the four petitioners are not required in any case and no further raid would be conducted at the house of the petitioners without following the due procedure and advance notice would be given to the petitioners.

Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that in view of the statement made by the learned State counsel on instructions

from the concerned police official, the petitioners do not wish to press the present petition and the same be disposed of accordingly. Disposed of as having not been pressed.
