ARUN MONGA, J. (ORAL) Petition herein, inter alia, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to allot the ration depot to the petitioner in village Tanana, Block Chogawan, Tehsil Ajnala, District Amritsar in view of policy dated 15.06.2016 (Annexure P-2) under head of Scheduled Caste Category.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner submitted an application for allotment of ration depot under the Scheduled Category on 28.12.2020. The said application is pending till date without any decision on the same. In the premise, petitioner caused issuance of a legal notice dated 21.02.2021 (Annexure P-4), but to no avail.Hence, the instant petition.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he would be satisfied, at this stage, if a final decision is taken, either way, on the pending legal notice dated 21.02.2021 (Annexure P-4) sent by the petitioner. 4.

Given the nature of order being passed, there is no necessity to seek return by any of the respondents as no further proceedings and/or pleadings are required.

Without commenting on the merits of the case, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the competent authority tolook into the legal notice dated 21.02.2021 (Annexure P-4) and take further action, if warranted and deemed appropriate, in accordance with law. 6.

Disposed of accordingly.
