The instant petition has been filed for issuance of direction to respondents No. 2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners from the hands of private respondents.

It is contended that the petitioners are major and have solemnized their marriage on 14.11.2019 against the wishes of the private respondents who have been threatening them with dire consequences. Soon after their marriage, the petitioners submitted a representation dated 04.03.2020 (Annexure P6) to respondent No.2 i.e. The Superintendent of Police, Faridabad, for redressal of their grievance but no action has been taken thereon so far.

CRWP-2517-2020 (O&M) [ 2 ] Parkash, Crime Branch, DLF, Faridabad, has submitted that both the petitioners have been in the Protection Home since June, 2020 pursuant to orders of a coordinate Bench of this court on 23.06.2020. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petition may be disposed of with a direction to the Superintendent of Police, Faridabad (respondent No.2) to take suitable steps to protect both the petitioners with respect to the alleged threat perception to them on account of their inter-faith marriage.

In the circumstances, this petition is disposed of with a direction to the Superintendent of Police, Faridabad (respondent No.2) to take appropriate steps and action, as may be required, keeping in view the alleged threat perception on account of the inter-faith marriage between the parties.
