SURINDER GUPTA, J.(Oral) This petition is for seeking protection of life and liberty of petitioners, who alleged to have married against the wishes of respondents No. 5 to 8, parents and brothers of petitioner No.1. Learned counsel for the petitioners has limited his prayer for taking appropriate action in accordance with law on the representation dated 18.01.2017 (Annexure P-5) made by petitioner No.1. It has been stated that both the petitioners are major. The date of birth of petitioner No.1-Jyoti Bala is 20.08.1991 as per copy of Matriculation Examination Certificate (Annexure P-1) and that of petitioner No.2-Varun Kumar is 01.01.1996 as per copy of Passport (Annexure P-2). They got married on 18.01.2017. Photographs of marriage are Annexure P-4.

In view of the prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioners, but without expressing any opinion on the validity of marriage of petitioners, petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.2Senior Superintendent of Police, Batala to look into the representation dated Sachin Mehta 2017.01.20 16:55 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document HIGH COURT, CHANDIGARH
