Learned State counsel on instructions from ASI Avtar Singh has stated that the local police had contacted the petitioners, who got their statements recorded stating that they no longer apprehend any danger to their lives and liberty at the hands of private respondents and further they do not require any police protection.

It being so, the present petition has become infructuous and is dismissed accordingly.
