***** ARUN MONGA, J. (ORAL) Petition herein, inter alia, is for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to allow the petitioner to continue in service on the post of Lady Social Worker. 2.

Petition was admitted for hearing on 23.07.2001.When taken up for final adjudication, after around 21 years, the learned counsel is unable to assist the Court for lack of instructions due to not having proper address and particulars of the petitioner. On a Court query, learned counsel for the petitioner fairly concedes that all his attempts to establish contact with the petitioner have been futile. He submits that in compliance of order dated 25.05.2022 passed by this Court, a registered letter was sent to the petitioner at the address given in the 'memo of parties' but the same was undelivered. In the premise, even issuance of fresh notice to petitioner would be an exercise in futility.

It seems that by sheer effluxion of time and pendency of the writ petition for more than 21 years before this Court, it has been rendered infructuous and/or the petitioner seems to have lost interest in pursuing the same.

Be that as it may, writ petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to file an appropriate application in case, any cause of action still survives.
