Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that despite the fact that the petitioner had sustained 11 injuries including 2 grievous injuries on his head and regarding which FIR No.286 dated 6.11.2019 under Sections 323, 325, 506, 148, 149 IPC, Police Station Lehra, District Sangrur was lodged, the police is not conducting effective investigation and rather the petitioner is being pressurized to effect a compromise at the instance of the private respondents No.5 to 8.

Having heard learned counsel for the petitioner and while refraining from making any expression as regards veracity of the averments made in the petition, the same is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.3Senior Superintendent of Police, Sangrur so as to ensure that matter pertaining to the aforesaid FIR is got investigated expeditiously in accordance with law so that a final report is submitted at the earliest. 3.

A copy of this order be sent to respondent No.3- Senior Superintendent of GAURAV SOROT 2020.03.12 18:30 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

Needless to mention that the police is not expected to force the petitioner to effect compromise.
