The prayer made in the present petition is to grant the petitioners minimum of the regular pay scale and interest on the post of ANM (Female/Multipurposes Health Worker (Female) at par with regular employees in terms of the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in 'State of Punjab and others versus Jagjit Singh 2016(4) SCT 641 as also in terms of the judgment dated 27.02.2024, Annexure P-5 passed by this Court in CWP No. 6784 of 2017 titled 'Rupinder Kaur and others versus State of Punjab and others'.

Learned counsel would contend that regarding the claim raised in the present petition, a legal notice dated 13.10.2024, Annexure P-8, has been served upon the respondents, which has yet not evoked any response. He thus, on instructions prays that a direction may be given to the respondents to decide the same in a time bound manner, to which learned State counsel has no objection to the limited prayer made. In view of the above and without commenting on the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to the respondents to decide legal notice dated 13.10.2024, Annexure P-8, within a period of 06 months, which this Court has no reason to believe the authorities would not address in a just, fair and reasonable manner. Upon doing so, after notice and hearing offered to them and if found entitled, grant the benefit forthwith. Needless to say, if the orders are adverse to their interest, the same shall contain reasons and the petitioners shall be free to seek legal redress thereupon.
