***** HARSH BUNGER J. (Oral) Petition herein is, inter alia, seeking a writ in the nature of certiorari, for setting aside the letter/report dated 21.01.2026 (Annexure P-1) passed by learned Additional Deputy Commissioner, Urban Development, Patiala.

Mr. D.V. Sharma, Senior Advocate along with Mr. Arshdeep, Advocate appears on behalf of the respondents No.3, in pursuance of the advance copy of paper book having already been supplied and handed over a photocopy of order dated 06.04.2026 issued by office of Director, Local Government, Punjab; the same is taken on record, subject to all just exceptions. A copy thereof is also handed over to learned counsel for the petitioner, in Court today itself.

At this stage, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that since order on the representation submitted by the petitioner under Section 236 of the Punjab Municipal Act, 1911 has been passed; accordingly, he may be permitted to withdraw the instant writ petition with liberty to the petitioner to avail his remedies under Section 237 of the Punjab Municipal Act, 1911, in accordance with law.

Learned Senior Counsel for the respondent No.3 as well as learned State counsel have not opposed the aforesaid course being adopted. 5.

Keeping in view the above, present writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn with liberty to petitioner to avail his remedies under Section 237 of the Punjab Municipal Act, 1911.

It goes without saying that in case, any petition is filed by the petitioner under Section 237 of the Punjab Municipal Act, 1911, within a period of 10 days from today, the same shall be considered and decided by the concerned authorities within a period of two months after affording due opportunity of hearing to all the concerned parties and by way of passing a speaking order.
