(ORAL) Case is taken up for hearing through video conferencing. This petition has been filed by the petitioner under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus for the release of minor detenue Anchalpreet Kaur (daughter of the petitioner and Gagandeep Kaur (wife of the petitioner), who are alleged to be illegally detained by respondents No. 4 to 10, and further to appoint a Warrant Officer to search the residence of respondents No. 4 to 10 or any other place pointed out by the petitioner to get the detenues released from the illegal detention of respondents No. 4 to 10. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is working in a company at Jaam Nagar, Gujarat. He further submits that respondents No.

4 to 10, who are doing the business of sending the women to Dubai, have taken the wife and daughter of the petitioner without his knowledge and permission and have illegally detained them. Vide order dated 25.3.2021, passed by this Court, Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran-respondent No. 2 was directed to depute GURPREET SINGH 2021.09.

CRWP No. 3070 of 2021 -2a Police Officer to visit the house of respondents No. 4 to 10 and inquire as to whether the alleged detenues have been detained by them illegally or forcibly and to file a detailed report in this regard. Supplementary affidavit of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub-Division Tarn Taran dated 30.4.2021, filed in the Registry, is taken on record.

Along with the said affidavit, the statement of Gagandeep Kaur, recorded by Jagtar Singh ASI on 22.4.2021, has also been placed on record as Annexure R-1/T. In her statement, Gagandeep Kaur has stated that her marriage was performed with Manjit Singh-petitioner ten years ago and they are having a daughter, namely, Anchalpreet Kaur, aged 08 years. She further stated that Manjit Singh-petitioner has been doing a private job in a company at Gujarat and he used to visit the house after two years and used to beat her. She further stated that she has been given the protection by Ranjit Singh-respondent No. 4 and she along with her daughter are residing with Ranjit Singh with her own sweet will and without any kind of pressure from Ranjit Singh and she does not want to keep any relation with her husband Manjit Singh.

Keeping in view the above, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he does not want to press this petition. Dismissed as not pressed.
