Vide order dated 17.09.2025, this Court passed the following order : "There is no appearance on behalf of the petitioner. On the last date also, there was no appearance on behalf of the petitioner.

Learned counsel for respondent No. 1 submits that he has received the information that petitioner Jaswant Singh has expired.

SHO of the police station concerned is directed to verify the said factual aspect.

Registry is directed to inform the counsel for the petitioner regarding the next date of hearing. Adjourned to 24.9.2025."

In compliance with the aforesaid order, learned State counsel, on instructions from ASI Rajesh Kumar, submits that petitioner-Jaswant Singh has expired, and has placed on record a report received from SHO, Police Station Garhshankar, which reads as under:

CRM-M-2004-2018(O&M) - 2- "It is requested that the verification of Jaswant Singh son of Ajit singh r/ Village Denowal Kalan PS garhshankar Distt: Hoshiarpur was conducted by Sarpanch Ramjit Singh and ASI Rajesh Kumar No. 903/HPR. During the verification it was found that Jaswant Singh son of Ajit singh r/o Village Denowal Kalan PS garhshankar Distt: Hoshiarpur was died due to illness about 01 year ago. No family member of the above said Jaswant singh's family lives in the village now. The statement of Sarpanch Ramjit Singh attached with the report."

A perusal of the judicial record reveals that there was no representation on behalf of the petitioner on the last date as well as today. It has also been verified by the officials concerned that the petitioner is no more. 4.

In view of the above, the present petition stands disposed of for want of prosecution.
