CRM-M No.19116 of 2017 (O&M) Date of Decision: 25.10.2024 Joginder Singh Mattu

State of Punjab and Others
...Respondents
CORAM:
HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE ANOOP CHITKARA
Present:
Ms. Komal Preet Kour, legal aid counsel for the petitioner.
Mr. Jasjit Singh, DAG, Punjab.
Mr. Parveen Chauhan, Advocate for respondent Nos.6 to 8.
**** ANOOP CHITKARA, J.
Seeking direction to official respondents to protect life and liberty of the petitioner and his family members and further direction to respondent No.3 to take legal action on application dated 23.01.2017 against the private respondents, the petitioner has come up before this Court under Section 482 Cr.P.C.. 2.
I have heard counsel for the petitioner as well as that of the State. 3.
Counsel for the private respondents argued that the petitioner and his wife were running a fake Human Rights Commission in which petitioner himself was acting as Chairman and his wife as a Secretary. Both of them have duped various people including one Ramesh from whom he had taken Rs. 8,00,000/- under the garb of getting him a gas agency. When the private respondent wanted his money back, the petitioner filed a protection petition before this Court.
4.
Given above, this is not a case of protection and as such, the present petition is dismissed. However, legal aid counsel shall be entitled to fee in accordance with rules. Pending applications, if any, also stand disposed of. (ANOOP CHITKARA) JUDGE 25.10.2024 Sonia Puri Whether speaking/reasoned: Yes/No Whether reportable:
