Prayer made in the present petition is for quashing the order dated 07.10.2004 and the seniority fixed in the new list and for preparing the list after decision of the writ petition pending in this Court. 2.

In the index of the petition, reference is made to pendency of CWP18706-1998 titled as Kulwant Singh vs. State of Punjab and Others, which now stands allowed by this Court on 02.02.2024 along with two other petitions with a lead case i.e. CWP-16509-1998, wherein it has been held that the ad hoc services cannot be counted for the purpose of seniority. 3.
