The petitioner through instant petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to take action against officials for causing loss to the State exchequer. He is also seeking direction to respondent No. 3 to decide his legal notice dated 18.11.2025. 2.

The petitioner is a public-spirited person and was an employee of Nagar Council, Noor Mahal, Jalandhar. He unearthed irregularities and corruption in the development and renovation of City Park. No City Park exists at the said location. The respondent has allegedly incurred Rs.17.62 lakh on the development of said park. Moreover, the land at the said location is not under the ownership of Municipal Council, Noor Mahal but belongs to Ramleela Committee. -222.06.2022 ordered inquiry into the allegations. Spot investigation by the Vigilance Bureau on 14.07.2022 revealed that the works of earth filling shown in bills appeared to be bogus and cited discrepancies. Principal Secretary, Department of Local Government Punjab vide communication dated 17.11.2022 issued show cause to concerned officials to put forth their stand. Despite adverse findings and issuance of show cause, no action has been taken against the officials involved.
