Sandhu, Advocate for the petitioners. ***** HARKESH MANUJA, J (ORAL) Present criminal writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India has been filed by the petitioners praying for protection to their life and liberty, in view of the marriage solemnized by them against the wishes of respondents No.4 to 7.
Learned counsel for the petitioners states that both the petitioners are living in live-in-relationship against the wishes of private respondents and have sought protection to their life and liberty. He has submitted that although the petitioners No.1 and 2 are 20 and 17 years of age respectively yet they are entitled for protection. Both the petitioners apprehend danger from the private respondents. The petitioners have submitted a representation dated 09.03.2023 (Annexure P-3) to respondent No.2.

CRWP 2402 of 2023 2023:PHHC:039446 Without entering upon an exercise to evaluate the evidentiary value of the documents placed on the file, I dispose of the petition with a direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur, to decide the representation (Annexure P-3) of the petitioners and grant them protection, if any threat to their life and liberty is perceived. It is clarified that this order shall not be taken to grant immunity to the petitioners from legal action for violation of law, if any, committed by them. This order would not be understood having expressed any opinion whatsoever by this Court on the validity of the live-in-relationship of the petitioners.
Disposed of.
