The petitioner, by way of this Writ Petition, filed in the year 1997, is seeking appointment of brother of the husband of the petitioner on compassionate grounds.

The appointment on compassionate ground is granted with the purpose to provide immediate relief to the family of the deceased Government employee. Now after a lapse of more than 25 years, grant of compassionate appointment would be without any purpose. Further, while the provisions provide for grant of compassionate appointment to the family members/dependents of the deceased Government servant, brother would not come within the said claim.

In view thereof, no case for appointment on compassionate grounds is made out. The Writ Petition stands dismissed accordingly. 4.

All the pending applications in this Writ Petition stand disposed of accordingly.
