Learned counsel for the petitioners contends that respondents No.4 and 5 suspect that their daughter has eloped with Lakhwinder Singh, son of the petitioners, and on account of the said suspicion, the petitioners are being harassed by the police. It has been submitted that the petitioners have no clue about the whereabouts of their son as he was not in their control. It has further been submitted that the petitioners have no objection for any legal action to be taken against their son in case he has committed any wrong and that they are willing to fully cooperate with the police in this regard. 2.

Having heard the learned counsel for the petitioners and while refraining from making any expression as regards merits of the case or as regards veracity of averments made in the petition, the petition is disposed off with a PANKAJ KAKKAR 2021.04.01 18:10 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

( 2 ) CRWP-3153-2021 (O&M) direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Ferozepur to ensure that the petitioners are not unduly harassed merely for the purpose of knowing the whereabouts of Lakhwinder Singh. However, in case, the petitioners are required to be associated with any inquiry or any information is to be elicited from them, then a prior written notice be afforded to them.

It is, however, clarified that the aforesaid order shall not be construed to confer any immunity upon the petitioners, in case it is found that they have committed any wrong.
