**** HARKESH MANUJA, J. (ORAL) By way of present petition filed under Section 482 CrPC, prayer has been made for issuance of directions to official respondents especially respondent No.1 to protect life and liberty of the petitioner and his family members at the hands of respondents No.5 to 11. 2.

In response, official respondents have filed their status report dated 25.04.2019, wherein the prayer made in the present petition has been controverted and opposed.

It has also been submitted that the petitioner is involved in few other FIRs, got registered at the instance of private respondents. Relevant Paras No.4 and 5 of the status report are reproduced hereunder for reference:- "4.

That in this regard it is submitted that Harjit Singh i.e. Respondent No. 9 filed a complaint and after investigation the FIR No. 41 dated 16.2.2018 U/s 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 IPC has been registered against petitioner at P.S. Sadar Phagwara, District Kapurthala, Punjab. After registration of FIR, the local police is making regular raids to arrest the petitioner but the petitioner is absconding. 5.

That apart from above, it is submitted that another FIR No. 96 dated 22.5.2017 (Annexure P-8) U/s 406/420/465/467/468/471 IPC was registered at P.S. Division No. 7 Jalandhar on the statement of one Harmeet Singh i.e. respondent No . 5 against accused Mahesh Kumar i.e. the TEJWINDER SINGH 2024.04.16 14:59 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

2024:PHHC:050378 -2CRM-M-20158-2018 petitioner and Gurvinder Kumar wherein Harmeet Singh stated that Gurvinder Kumar introduced him with Mahesh Kumar i.e. the petitioner and told the complainant that the petitioner is having C&F Agency of Pepsi/Coca Cola and is running firm M/s Vinayak Sales as Prop having branches at Palampur, Una and Nawashahar and the said petitioner wants to extent his business for which he requires funds and persuaded the complainant to lend him Rs.40Lakhs, said amount shall be taken by Mahesh Kumar (Petitioner) on different intervals and accused Gurvinder Kumar assured the complainant that said Mahesh Kumar (Petitioner) will return the amount in September 2016 as by that time his limit of about more than Rs.2 Crores will be sanctioned by Punjab National Bank in which Gurvinder Kumar was working as Chief Manger and assured that he will be responsible for return of the amount which the complainant lend to Mahesh Kumar (Petitioner)" 4.

Furthermore, no one has chosen to appear on behalf of petitioner for the past three hearings. It appears that petitioner is not interested in pursuing the present petition, there being no threat perception to his life and liberty.
