Present petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution, inter alia, for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the candidature of the petitioners for selection and appointment to the advertised posts of Junior Engineer (Civil) in view of their higher qualification of degree in Civil Engineering. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that in view of the averments made in short reply by way of affidavit filed in CWP-7358-2021, the grievance of the petitioners is redressed and as such, the petition has been rendered infructuous.
