***** GURVINDER SINGH GILL, J.(Oral) The instant petition was filed in the year 2020 seeking issuance of directions to the authorities concerned to release the petitioner prematurely in accordance with Policy dated 08.07.1991 (Annexure P-2) of Government of Punjab.

Pursuant to issuance of notice of motion the State has however, till date not filed any reply. However, learned State counsel, upon instructions from ASI Rashpal Singh has informed that the petitioner is confined in District Jail, Faridkot and that the case of the petitioner was MOHAN SINGH 2023.05.29 16:58 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this order/judgment

CRWP-2680-2020 (O&M) ( 2 ) 2023:PHHC:078076 considered and had been declined. However, no formal reply to this effect is forthcoming.

Keeping in view the submission made on behalf of learned State counsel, it is directed that in case the matter has been considered and disposed off, then a copy of such order be furnished to the petitioner within a period of one week from today so that he may be able to challenge the same. In case, the matter is still under consideration, then necessary steps be taken so as to ensure that the matter pertaining to premature release of the petitioner is duly considered and appropriate order is passed expeditiously, preferably within a period of three months from today. Needless to mention, in case the matter has already been decided and declined, it shall always be open to the petitioner to approach this Court so as to challenge the said order. The petition stands disposed of accordingly.
