IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA

AT CHANDIGARH CRM-M No. 20225 of 2018 DATE OF DECISION :- May 31, 2018 Salinder Kaur @ Surinder Kaur

...Petitioner

Versus

State of Punjab

...Respondent

CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE H.S. MADAAN Present:- Ms. Rishma Verma, Advocate for the petitioner. Mr. Saurav Khurana, DAG, Punjab.

*** Admittedly the prosecution has closed its evidence in the trial Court and now the case is fixed for 6.6.2018 for recording statement of accused under Section 313 Cr.P.C. In that way the trial is going to be concluded in near future, therefore, there is no ground to grant regular bail to the petitioner.

The petition stands dismissed. However, the trial Court is directed to conclude the trial expeditiously by giving short adjournments preferably within a period of two months from the date of receipt of copy of this order in the Court. The prosecution and the defence should avoid seeking adjournments without any justifiable reason.
