By way of present petition filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, prayer has been made for issuance of writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No.2 to 4 to protect life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondents No.5 to 8. 2.
At the outset, learned counsel for the petitioners submits that instead of pressing the present petition on merits, his clients would be satisfied in case direction is issued to respondents No.1 to 4 to decide the representation (Annexure P-1) moved at the instance of petitioner by passing a speaking order expeditiously. 3.
Prayer seems to be justified.

Upon advance notice, Mr. Athar Ahmed, DAG, Punjab appears on behalf of respondents and raises no objection to the innocuous prayer made on behalf of the petitioners. 5.
