* * * * The Industrial Tribunal, Punjab, allowed the claim of the workman for promotion as Driver (Operator) in the pay scale of Rs.13502400 from the date his juniors were promoted i.e. 01.03.1996 and directed the respondents to promote him after observing necessary formalities within a period of three months from the date of publication of the award.

The writ petition was admitted at the instance of the Chief Engineer, Irrigation, Punjab, but no stay had been granted. This petition is pending for the last more than 16 years. Learned Counsel for the State states that she has not been able to get any instructions and therefore, the writ petition be consigned to record with liberty to the Department to get it revived, in case of need. So ordered.
