AMOL RATTAN SINGH , J. (Oral) By this petition, the petitioner seeks quashing of FIR no.0128 dated 14.10.2018, registered at Police Station Jhabal, Tarn Taran, for the alleged commission of offences punishable under Sections 420 and 120-B of the IPC.

On the oral request of the learned counsel for the petitioner, respondent no.2, who is erroneously impleaded as the Senior Superintendent of Police, Amritsar Rural, Amritsar, is ordered to be deleted from the array of parties, with the Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran, ordered to be impleaded in his place, with the Registry directed to carry out the necessary correction in the memo of parties.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that at this stage in fact the petitioner would be satisfied if a direction is issued to respondents no.2 and 3 to finalize the proceedings in the aforesaid FIR, with the petitioner in fact having been exonerated by the police in the inquiry conducted in the matter as per the report dated 07.02.2019 (Annexure P-4), it VIRENDRA SINGH ADHIKARI 2021.04.07 09:46 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

That being so, without making any comment on the actual merits of the case, this petition is disposed of with a direction to respondents no.2 and 3, i.e. Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran, and the Station House Officer, Police Station Chabhal, Tarn Taran, to finalize the investigation within a period of three months from today and to submit an appropriate report to the competent court.
