State of Punjab ..Respondent

CORAM:

HON'BLE MRS. JUSTICE DAYA CHAUDHARY

Present:

Mr. Bhupinder Ghai, Advocate for the petitioners. Ms. Bhavna Gupta, DAG, Punjab for the respondent -State.

*** Daya Chaudhary, J. (Oral) Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that petitioner No.1 has joined investigation and the interim order qua petitioner No.2 was made absolute on 13.11.2018.

Learned State counsel on instructions from HC Daljit Singh has affirmed factum of joining investigation by petitioner No.1. However, learned State counsel has opposed grant of anticipatory bail to petitioner No.1 on the ground that a number of cases are there against him whereas as per status report, in two cases, petitioner No.1 has been acquitted; in two cases, FIR has been quashed; in one case, he has been released on probation with fine; in one case, he was sentenced to pay fine, which has been paid and in one case under the Excise Act, he has been convicted. Since petitioner No.1 has joined investigation, interim order dated 14.05.2018 passed by this Court in his favour is made absolute. Petition is disposed of accordingly.
