**** HARNARESH SINGH GILL, J.(Oral) Prayer in this petition is for issuance of a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the claim of the petitioners and to allow them to appear in the examination for the post of Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT) Science and English. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners are Post Graduate in Science and English; that against advertisement No.2/2023, the petitioners intend to apply for the aforesaid post; that the petitioners had also qualified the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) in the year 2022 and that the petitioners are now pursuing B.Ed. (2nd year).

I have heard the learned counsel for the petitioners at length. I do not find any merit in the contentions raised by the learned counsel for the petitioners.

CWP-5060-2023 (O&M) -2in question, a candidate must have a Bachelor's degree from a recognized University with at least 50% in the respective subject as compulsory or elective or core or honours subject and respective subject as a teaching subject in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)/B.Ed. (Special Education) in accordance with the National Council for Teacher Education (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulation issued from time to time in this regard, apart from other qualifications. It is not disputed that the petitioners have already cleared HTET examination. However, the fact remains that the petitioners are pursuing B.Ed. (2nd year), the result of which is yet to come. It is apparent from the aforesaid condition that only a candidate, who is having a degree of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), is eligible to apply for the post in question, which admittedly the petitioners do not possess. Once the petitioners did not possess the degree in B.Ed. on the cut-off date, they cannot maintain the present petition on the strength of their obtaining the same in near future.

In view of the above, finding no merit in the present petition, the same is hereby dismissed.
