Through the instant petition, the petitioner seeks the concession of his being enlarged on interim bail for two weeks, in case FIR No.117 dated 19.07.2022, under Sections 302, 324, 34 of the IPC, registered at P.S. Majitha, District Amritsar Rural. 2.

The relief extracted hereinabove is anchored upon the factum that since the marriage ceremony of the petitioner's sister is scheduled for 12.03.2024, therefore, the presence of the petitioner there is of utmost importance, especially in view of the fact that except him, there is no other male member in his family, as the petitioner's father had passed away on 17.11.2016.

Before instituting the instant petition, the petitioner had accessed the learned Additional Sessions Judge, Amritsar, thereby seeking the relief of interim bail, however, vide order dated 05.03.2024, the latter declined to grant the asked for relief. Aggrieved by the declining order (supra), the petitioner has knocked the doors of this Court.

A perusal of the record available before this Court, especially the declining order (supra), makes it evident that the marriage ceremony of the petitioner's sister is actually scheduled for 12.03.2024. Therefore, taking into account the fact that except the petitioner, there is no other male member in his family, this Court deems it appropriate to take a lenient view and to permit the petitioner to attend the marriage ceremony of his sister, on the scheduled date.

In sequel, the Superintendent of the Jail concerned is directed to deploy two armed guards in plain clothes alongwith the petitioner, who shall accompany him to the venue concerned, and/or, to the house of the petitioner. The petitioner shall step outside the jail concerned in the morning of 12.03.2024, and, shall re-step into the jail concerned in the evening of 13.03.2024.

The petition stands disposed of accordingly.
