Admittedly, the petitioners do not fulfill the minimum qualification as required for the post of Lecturer in the subjects of History and Political Science as per the Punjab Education Service (School and Inspection Border Area) Group "B" Service Rules, 2018. 2.

The petitioners claim that in the various recruitment notices issued by the same department in the year 2021, teaching of Social Science in B.Ed. has been treated as equivalent to History and Political Science. 3.

Once the rules in exercise of the powers under Article 309 of the Constitution of India have been framed and notified, the government is required to follow the said rules strictly unless amended by the legislature. This Court while exercising the writ jurisdiction, does not find it appropriate to direct the respondents to perpetuate the illegality, if any, which was DEEPAK KUMAR BHARDWAJ 2023.03.17 12:58 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document committed while issuing the recruitment notices in the year 2021.
