(ORAL) Present petition has been filed seeking a writ in the nature of Habeas Corpus with the direction to respondents No.2 and 3 to ensure the release of detenue, namely, Smt. Mamta Devi, whom the petitioner claims to be his legally wedded wife and who was allegedly being detained against her wishes by private respondents No.4 to 8. After notice of motion, the respondents-State has appeared and learned State counsel, on the instructions from Inspector Kanwar Singh, submitted that the statement of the petitioner was recorded by the police, wherein, he has stated that he is living with his wife since 23.05.2020.

No one has appeared on behalf of the petitioner to controvert the said fact.
