(Oral) The present petition has been filed by the petitioner under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, seeking a writ of mandamus, directing respondent No.2 - Bank to make correction in the Date of Birth of the petitioner in his service record and he be not retired from service on 31.08.2000 on attaining the age of 60 years on the basis of wrong entry of date of birth as shown in the discharge certificate issued by the Army BSF while the petitioner was discharged from service as Washman (Dhobi).

Learned State counsel has produced a copy of letter dated 07.11.2024, issued by the Fazilka Central Cooperative Bank Limited wherein it has been stated that the petitioner has retired from service on MOHD YAKUB 2024.11.07 18:09 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Punjab & Haryana High Court at Chandigarh

CWP No.9881 of 2000 (O&M) attaining the age of superannuation on 31.08.2000 and has unfortunately died on 03.05.2016. No legal representatives of the petitioner have been brought on record. Even otherwise with the efflux of time, the relief claimed in the present petition has been rendered infructuous. Disposed of accordingly.
