HARPREET SINGH BRAR J. (Oral) Present petition has been filed under Section 528 of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 seeking issuance of direction to respondents No.1 to 5 for entrustment of the investigation of FIR No.44 dated 27.04.2023 under Sections 420 & 120-B of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, registered at Police Station Jhabal, District Tarn Taran (Annexure P-14) to some independent investigating agency or investigation of FIR (supra) be conducted under the supervision of some IPS rank officer.

On 04.03.2025, the following order was passed by this Court:- "XX XX XX XX Learned counsel for the petitioner, inter alia, contends that FIR (supra) was registered on 27.04.2023. It is a case of cyber fraud and in spite of the fact that the petitioner has provided the complete trail of swindled money digitally, till date, the jurisdictional police MOHD YAKUB 2025.03.25 18:03 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Punjab & Haryana High Court at Chandigarh

CRM-M No.11738 of 2025 authorities have neither arrested the accused nor have completed the investigation.

Learned State counsel appears on advance notice and seeks short accommodation to file the status report by way of affidavit of respondent No.3-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Tarn Taran.

In compliance thereof, a short reply by way of affidavit of Abhimanyu Rana, IPS, Senior Superintendent of Police, Tarn Taran, has been filed in the Court today which is taken on record. Learned State counsel, submits that the investigation of the FIR (supra) has been entrusted to an IPS officer, who is vigorously investigating the matter and the investigation is likely to be concluded within a period of 08 weeks from today.

Learned State counsel has assured this Court that the investigation into the case will be diligently pursued and brought to its logical conclusion, in accordance with the law. Without commenting on the merits of the case and in light of the specific position outlined in the aforementioned affidavit, no further directions are required to be passed. Accordingly, the present petition is disposed of with a direction to the jurisdictional police authorities to conclude the investigation of the case within a period of 08 weeks from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
