MANJARI NEHRU KAUL, J. (Oral) The petitioner is seeking issuance of a direction to respondents No. 1 to 3 for registration of FIR against respondents No. 4 to 6 under Sections 406, 498-A, 120-B IPC and other relevant sections in the wake of complaints dated 13.07.2020 (Annexure P1) and 10.02.2021 (Annexure P3) made to respondent No.2.

Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that despite the complaint (Annexure P1) and the statement (Annexure P2) having been made to respondent No.2 and the Incharge, Women Cell, Police Station, Ferozepur Cantt. (respondent No.3) respectively, they have failed to proceed against the private respondents even though they were legally obliged to pass appropriate order on the same.

CRM-M-14925-2021 [ 2 ] In the wake of the limited prayer of the petitioner, respondent No.2 i.e. Senior Superintendent of Police, Ferozepur, is directed to look into the grievance of the petitioner and, if required, take appropriate action under the provisions of law. However, if the respondent does not find any substance in the allegations levelled in the applications dated 13.07.2020 and 10.02.2021 (Annexure P1 and P3 respectively) qua the commission of any cognizable offence, then the petitioner would be duly informed as per the parameters laid down by the Supreme Court in Lalita Kumari v. Government of Uttar Pradesh & Ors. 2013 (4) RCR (Criminal) 979. Petition is disposed of.
