Mr. Avinit Avasthi, Assistant Advocate General, Punjab. * * * * RAVI SHANKER JHA, C.J. (ORAL) This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner being aggrieved by a letter/communication dated 18.11.2021 (Annexure P-2) by which it is being forced to accept the tender after validity of the bid has expired and it does not wish to enter into a contract with the respondent-authorities. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the earnest money deposited by it be refunded alongwith interest. Mr.
Avinit Avasthi, learned Assistant Advocate General, Punjab, on instructions, submits that the matter would be considered and decided afresh by the respondent-authorities at the earliest and in accordance with law by treating the writ petition itself as a representation and a decision taken thereon would be communicated to the petitioner accordingly. He further submits that till the decision is taken afresh by the respondent-authorities, no coercive steps including forfeiture of the earnest money would be undertaken by them. In view of the submission made by learned counsel for the petitioner as well as the statement of learned State counsel, the writ petition stands disposed of in terms thereof.
