The present petition has been filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C for issuance of direction to respondent Nos.2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners at the hands of respondent No.4. 2.

Notice of motion. At the asking of the Court, Mr. Ranbir Singh Pathania, DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of respondent Nos.1 to 3. The counsel for the petitioner shall supply three copies of complete paper book to the counsel appearing for the State. 3.

Amongst the petitioners, the bridegroom is less than 21 years though the bride is more than 18 years. The marriage shall not be valid under the definition of Hindu Marriage Act, parties being Hindus. However, without entering into the issue of the validity of marriage, I am of the view that the protection must be given to the petitioners. The petitioners shall give a representation to the 2nd respondent, Senior Superintendent of Police, Patiala who will consider the same and afford to them such protection as the situation might warrant.
