**** HARSIMRAN SINGH SETHI J. (ORAL) Learned counsel for the petitioners argued that in the present case, the claim of the petitioners is to rectify the anomaly in the pay scale of the Pump Operators/Fitters vis-a-vis the Clerks, the pump operators /fitters were getting higher pay scales than the Clerks prior to 01.12.2011 and upon the revision of the pay granted to the Clerks in the pay band of Rs.1030034800+Grade Pay of Rs.3200/-, the same benefits if not more, were liable to be extended to the pump operators and fitters. Learned counsel for the petitioners further submits that similar grievance was raised by the other category, who were also getting higher pay than the Clerks, which grievance has already been accepted by the Court while passing order in CWP No.7920 of 2013, decided on 01.02.2018 titled as Manmohan Singh and others vs. State of Punjab and others and therefore, the petitioners were also entitled for the higher pay scale w.e.f. the date, the Clerks were given. CWP-6850-2022 Learned counsel for the petitioners further submits that the said grievance has already been raised by the petitioners in legal notice dated 12.01.2022 (Annexure P-13) which is still pending consideration with the respondents and the petitioners will be satisfied, at this stage in case a time bound direction is given to the respondents to decide the said legal notice by passing an appropriate speaking order.

Learned counsel for the respondents raises no objection in decision of the legal notice dated 12.01.2022 (Annexure P-13) in a time bound manner by passing an appropriate speaking order. Without commenting upon the merits of the case or about the entitlement of the petitioners for the relief which has been claimed by him in the legal notice dated 12.01.2022 (Annexure P-13), the present writ petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2 to decide the legal notice dated 12.01.2022 (Annexure P-13) within a period of eight weeks from the receipt of copy of this order.
