CORAM:

HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE INDERJIT SINGH

Present:

Mr.Rajbir Singh, Advocate for the petitioner.

Mr.D.S.Virk, Asstt. Advocate General, Punjab for the respondent-State.

**** INDERJIT SINGH, J.

Petitioner has filed this petition under Section 438 Cr.P.C. for grant of anticipatory bail in case FIR No.166 dated 03.12.2015 under Sections 420, 406 and 120-B IPC, registered at Police Station Dhuri, District Sangrur.

I have heard learned counsel for the petitioner as well as learned State counsel and have gone through the record. As per the FIR, the petitioner is named in the FIR along with her husband and other person. As per the allegations, they cheated the complainant on the ground for sending to Canada. The complainant was first sent to Thailand for 4-5 days and then he came back to India. As per the FIR, more than `27 lacs has been taken by the accused. Even the co-accused Ravinder Pal Sharma issued one cheque of `18 lacs, which was also VINEET GULATI 2016.07.19 15:35 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document Chandigarh

CRM No.M-21292 of 2016 -2dishonoured.

The present petitioner, who is wife of Ravinder Pal Sharma, is named in the FIR and active role has been attributed to her along with other accused. The recovery of the amount is yet to be effected. Keeping in view the above facts and in view of the nature and gravity of the offence, I do not find it a fit case where petitioner is entitled for grant of anticipatory bail.

Therefore, finding no merit in the present petition, the same is dismissed.
