Priti and another State of Punjab and others ----Respondents Mr.R.S. Malhotra, Advocate for the petitioners.

The petitioners who are major have solemnized their marriage on 07.02.2016 at Shri Balaji Jyotish Kender Panchkula. Copy of the marriage certificate is attached as Annexure P-3. The petitioners have earlier filed CRM-M No.5889 of 2016 praying for protection of their life and liberty, which was disposed of vide order dated 16.05.2016 on the statement of the petitioners before the Police that now they have no threat to their life and personal liberty. Thereafter, the petitioners were living happily. On 05.06.2016 respondents No.6 and 7 met with the petitioners and extended threat to both the petitioners that they would not spare both the petitioners. Regarding this, the petitioners submitted representation on 10.06.2016 (Annexure P-6) to the Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar.

-2In view of the above, without commenting on the merits of the case, this petition is disposed of with a direction to the Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar (Respondent No.2) to look into the grievance of the petitioners as contained in the representation and take necessary steps in accordance with law.

This application has been filed for permission to withdraw the main case i.e. CRM-M 20470 of 2016.

For the reasons mentioned in the application, the same is allowed and the main case is dismissed as withdrawn.
