Petitioner applied for the post of Clerk in the general category. Selection process has commenced and counselling is in progress. At the time of application, there was instruction at serial no. 12 (a) of advertisement which provided as follows:- "The candidates may fill their forms keeping in view the category codes as the said codes cannot be changed at any stage."
It was further clarified in para 17(c) of the advertisement that the applicants may fill in their applications personally. Said clause reads as under:- "At the time of filling online application, the candidate are advised to fill their application personally, instead of taking the help of the cyber café"
Admittedly, there were 705 vacancies in general category and 363 in Ex-servicemen category. Petitioner tried his luck in the general AJAY KUMAR 2019.04.11 14:56 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document category but was not able to make it to the selection zone. At that stage, he
CWP No. 6755 of 2019 made a representation for changing his category from General to Exservicemen. According to State counsel, selection process is nearing culmination. In case candidates are allowed to change their categories at this stage, it will create a chaos. I find substance in this plea. Besides, petitioner was bound by the terms of the advertisement. There is, thus, no merit in the petition. Same is hereby dismissed.
