SANDEEP MOUDGIL, J (ORAL) The jurisdiction of this Court has been invoked under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of directions to respondents No.2 and 3 to protect the life and liberty of the petitioners, who have married against the wishes of private respondents and not to harass them at the instance of respondent Nos.4 & 5.

This petition is premature, in the light of notification No.HOMEHM40 40SECM/14/2025-2H4/63 dated 23.01.2025 issued by the Department of Home Affairs, Punjab, Government of Punjab (Home-4 Branch). Faced with the situation, learned counsel for the petitioners prays for withdrawal of the present petition with liberty to take an alternate remedy in the light of above-said notification.

Prayer is accepted.
