Petitioners have filed the present petition under Section 528 of BNSS praying therein to direct the official respondents to initiate appropriate proceedings/decide the representation dated 12.02.2026 (Annexure P-3).

While mentioning the factual backdrop of the case, learned counsel contends that father of the petitioners late Sh. Baldev Singh who was the absolute owner of the agricultural land, the details of which have been mentioned in para 2 of the petition, unfortunately died on 02.09.2015. He left behind 4 legal heirs including the petitioners and their other siblings (2 brothers and one sister). Sister of the petitioners took recourse to civil proceeding by filing a Civil Suit claiming her share in the land in question. The said suit is pending adjudication before the Civil Court, Amritsar. Respondents No.7 and 8, as has been alleged are asserting their ownership over the portions of the land vide 3 sale deeds (mentioned in para 5 of the petition).

The allegation of the petitioners is that respondent No.6, who is a police officer, has been constantly visiting the premises of their sister and HAMANT 2026.03.15 13:21 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document

CRM-M-13480-2026 has been pressurizing her to withdraw the said suit. After his attempts failed, he has now started pressurizing them (Petitioners). Primarily with this backdrop, the present petition has been filed. 3.

On the asking of the Court, Mr. Kamalpreet Bawa, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State and has no objection in deciding the representation filed on behalf of the petitioner. 6.

In view of the request made by learned counsel for the petitioners and the averments made in the petition, without commenting on the merits thereof, the present petition is disposed of with direction to respondent No.4 to dispose of the representation dated 12.02.2026 (Annexure P-3), within a period of 6 weeks, in accordance with law, from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.
