**** ANITA CHAUDHRY, J The petitioner is seeking regular bail in FIR No. 1 dated 3.1.2016 registered at Police Station Sadar, Jalandhar under Sections 406, 498-A, 323, 34 IPC.

Counsel for the petitioner contends that the FIR is of 2016 but the petitioner had gone abroad on 29.12.2015 and he returned only on 17.3.2018 and his passport is with the police. Counsel further states that he was arrested at the airport and was not aware of the FIR. The FIR has been lodged by the wife under Section 406, 498-A, 323, 34 IPC. The passport is already with the police. Without commenting anything on the merits of the case and considering the fact that the trial will take time to conclude, the petition is allowed and the petitioner is ordered to be released on bail on his furnishing bail/surety bonds to the satisfaction of the trial Court/Duty Magistrate with Gurpreet Singh Bhatia 2018.05.31 10:00 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document chandigarh
