SUVIR SEHGAL, J. (Oral) The petitioner is seeking regular bail in FIR No.82 dated 08.07.2018 under Section 21 of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 registered at Police Station Jhabal, District Tarn Taran.

Counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is in custody since 08.07.2018. He further submits that 300 grams heroin was recovered from the person of the petitioner and the trial is likely to take sometime to conclude.

Learned State counsel upon instructions from ASI Vipan Kumar submits that challan was presented on 21.12.2018 and the charges were framed on 11.04.2019. Heard.

Since the petitioner is in custody since 08.07.2018 and the trial is likely to take sometime to conclude, no useful purpose would be served by keeping the petitioner behind the bars any further. Without commenting anything on the merits of the case, the petition is allowed and the petitioner is ordered to be released on bail on his furnishing bail/surety bonds to the satisfaction of the trial Court/Duty Magistrate.
