The present petition has been filed by the petitioners under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of mandamus for directing the respondents to release the payment of interest, on account of delayed release of pensionary benefits, in view of the law laid down by this Court in CWP No.15306 of 2016, tilted as Hari Ram and others Vs. Pepsu Road Transport Corporation, Nabha Road, Patiala' decided on 04.09.2017 (Annexure P-2). 2.
Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that for claiming the said relief, the petitioners have also submitted legal notice dated 29.01.2023 (Annexure P-1) through their counsel, which is still pending consideration with the respondent and appropriate directions may be issued to the respondent to consider the said legal notice, in a time bound manner.

I have heard learned counsel for the parties and have gone through the record of the case.

In view of the above, let the claim of the petitioners for grant of interest on the delayed payment of retiral benefits, as submitted in the legal notice dated 29.01.2023 (Annexure P-1), shall be considered by the respondents, in accordance with law, within a period of three months, from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order and if the petitioners are found entitled for grant of interest, the same shall be released to them, within a period of one month thereafter. 6.
