(Oral) The present criminal revision has been filed against the order dated 13.12.2023 passed by learned Additional Sessions Judge, karnal, vide which the appeal filed by the petitioner against the impugned orders bearing Sr. No.162/DRO dated 08.7.2016 and Sr. No.327/DRO dated 04.11.2016 issued by the Executive Magistrate 1st Class-cum-D.R.O./respondent No.1, Karnal has been dismissed and a penalty of Rs.1,00,000/- has been imposed upon the petitioner herein. Vide the impugned order dated 13.12.2023, penalty of Rs.1,00,000/- has been imposed upon the petitioner as he stood surety for the convict Ramesh, who was released on parole but did not surrender/appear on the date fixed before the jail authorities and on the contrary he appeared three days later than the date fixed. 2024:PHHC:040818 CRR-594-2024 In view of the submissions made in the present criminal revision petition and the fact that the petitioner herein is a 71 years old aged person, the penalty amount of Rs.1,00,000/- imposed upon him vide order dated 13.12.2023 passed by the learned Additional Sessions Judge, Karnal, is hereby reduced to Rs.50,000/-. With the abovesaid observation, the present criminal revision petition stands disposed of.
